June 22 - A beautifully restored 1810 house that was moved from Upstate to a rural wooded site on Bangall Road listed by George T. Whalen Real Estate sold for $3.9 million earlier this month.  This house of classical lines and generous proportions came with five bedrooms, a mod kitchen, a pool, a weathered barn and 53 acres.  Houlihan Lawrence represented the buyer.  

Candy Anderson of H.W.Guernsey Real Estate reports the sale of two properties. One is a 20 acre property on Jewett Hill Road in Sharon with a 6,000 sq ft house that went for $3.4 million.  The other is “Red Tail”, a recently built 5200 sq ft stone and shingle house on Old Camby Road.  It has a wine cellar and 57 acres. It went for $2.7 million.   

George Langa reports the sale of a “cottage” with four bedrooms,  25 acres and a splendid view from a high point on Tower Hill that was listed at $1.2 million. It had been part of Trotwood Farms. 

Guernsey reports a brisk business in seasonal rentals in the $10,000 to $20,000 per month bracket.  They noted that a swimming pool helps.
