The 332 acre Walt Culver Farm on Old Route 22, Amenia, is slated to go to auction on November 18.  A large sign went up on the property announcing that Hilco Real Estate Company of Hinsdale, Illinois will conduct the auction of one of Amenia’s landmark farms.

Walt Culver, a diary farmer for much of the 20th century, died two years ago.  His land is now farmed by Peter Jacquier of East Canaan, Ct. who raises corn and alfalfa on it.

The land had been offered for sale by Katherine Dunlop, of Amenia.  The last listed price was $4.2 million.

The land is immediately opposite the Silo Ridge golf course on the east side of Route 22 and borders the lands of Keene Stud.
